FAQs

The Indigenous Awareness Training is designed to educate anyone who works with, serves or interacts with Indigenous people. The training is particularly crafted for leadership, executives, and professionals in the corporate sector.

In-person training will take place at your company site, preferably in a boardroom or classroom. Virtual live-guided training can take place over Zoom. The training capacity for either in-person or live-guided options is 25 people.

Each participant will receive a certificate of completion for completing the Transforming our Collective History – Indigenous Awareness training. This can be used towards your company’s equity, diversity and inclusion strategy or your reconciliation in action strategies.

There is a great opportunity to improve as a society by transforming our understanding of Indigenous people today and throughout history. Unfortunately, Canadians still don’t know Canada’s “hidden” history, including Canada’s assimilation policies that have lasting effects still felt by Indigenous people today. Also, because of the lack of knowledge, many Canadians hold harmful prejudices about Indigenous people in life and at work. Indigenous Awareness Training can help leaders think confidently to cultivate respectful relationships with Indigenous peoples and support the development of well-rounded, diverse teams.
